Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and contribute to the creation of memorable dining experiences in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation while supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen management.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and high performance standards
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Monitor portion control and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Support the delivery of exceptional hospitality by coordinating with front-of-house teams during service periods
Assist in managing kitchen schedules to ensure coverage during busy periods

Skills

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Proficiency in cooking techniques across a variety of cuisines
Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on serving guests’ needs
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and motivate team members to achieve their best
Good communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with colleagues and front-of-house staff
