Looking to build your finance career? Become an Assistant Finance Business Partner at Buro Happold.

This person can be based in our Bath office on a hybrid working model.

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional looking to gain experience in a leading global consultancy? We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our UK+ Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract.

At Buro Happold, you’ll be part of a collaborative and innovative environment where finance plays a key role in driving project success and business performance.

About The Role

As an Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support the delivery of high-quality financial insights and reporting across a range of projects. This role combines both management accounting and financial support, offering excellent exposure to project finance within a professional services environment.

You will work closely with Finance Business Partners, Project Directors and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the preparation of monthly project and management accounts.
Assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Help monitor project performance, including revenue, costs and provisions.
Collaborate with the Project Operations Team to support project delivery.
Contribute to financial reporting and monthly commentary for project leadership teams.
Support project approvals, closures, and governance processes.
Assist with journal postings, invoicing and month-end activities.
Liaise with regional and group finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Produce ad hoc analysis, reports and presentations as required.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and confident working with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with financial systems.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proactive, collaborative and able to use initiative.
Previous experience in a similar finance role, ideally supporting management accounts and month-end processes.

Desirable:

Experience within professional services, engineering or construction sectors.
Familiarity with systems such as Agresso or Deltek Vantagepoint.
AAT qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
