Therapeutic Primary Teacher
Silver Linings Therapeutic School
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
Due to one of our valued teachers transitioning to our new secondary provision to continue supporting our Year 6 pupils on their educational journey, we are delighted to be recruiting a Therapeutic Primary Teacher to join our growing team.
At Silver Linings Therapeutic School, we believe that children thrive when they feel safe, understood and connected. We are seeking an exceptional teacher who shares our commitment to relationship-based practice and understands that learning cannot happen without emotional safety.
As a Therapeutic Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education for pupils with complex social, emotional and mental health needs, developmental trauma experiences, and neurodiverse profiles. Working within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you will create meaningful learning experiences that promote academic progress, emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative and personalised learning experiences that meet the needs of individual pupils
- Create a safe, nurturing and well-organised classroom environment where children feel valued and understood
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with pupils through therapeutic and trauma-informed practice
- Support pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience and confidence
- Work collaboratively with therapists, Teaching and Learning Assistants, families and external professionals
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress across academic, social and emotional domains
- Develop and implement personalised learning and support plans
- Use reflective practice to continually adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs
- Promote children's physical, social, emotional and moral development
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our therapeutic provision and school community
- Champion our ethos of connection before correction in all aspects of your work
Our classrooms operate at the pace our children need, not the pace a curriculum dictates. We understand that regulation comes before learning and relationships come before outcomes. Through DDP-informed practice and the PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy), we create environments where children feel safe enough to engage, take risks and succeed.
