Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and organised Bookkeeper to join our friendly business.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining bookkeeping, administration, and support to the directors. It's ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small business environment where they can take ownership of their work and contribute across multiple areas.

We offer flexibility in working hours and structure, making this role well suited to someone balancing other commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Bookkeeping (Core Focus)

Processing purchase and sales invoices
Performing bank reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records
Management reporting
Monitoring income, expenditure, and cashflow
Processing payroll
Preparing and monitoring annual budget
Liaising with customers and suppliers
Liaising with external accountants

Administration

Supporting general office administration and correspondence

Operations & Coordination

Liaising with directors as required

About You

Essential:

Proven bookkeeping experience (AAT or QBE)
Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and take responsibility

Comfortable working within a small business environment

Desirable

Experience with Xero
Experience of working with a small owner-manager business
Experience of working in the construction industry

Pay: From £22,000.00 per year
