Duties

Your Role

As a Children's Residential Care Worker you will:

Build meaningful, trusting relationships with children and young people.
Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and therapeutic care.
Promote positive behaviour through restorative and relationship-based approaches.
Safeguard children and act immediately upon any concerns.
Support education, health, emotional wellbeing and independence.
Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
Be a positive role model who demonstrates professionalism, resilience and compassion.
Provide personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
Support children with daily routines, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities
Foster positive relationships through effective communication and active engagement
Assist with transportation needs by driving children to school, appointments, or leisure activities as required
Monitor behaviour and provide emotional support to promote social development
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress in line with organisational policies
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote a secure environment free from harm or neglect

Qualifications

Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of child development and care plans
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting young people's growth and independence
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative when required
