Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Crematorium Assistant & Driver to support our team in providing respectful and dignified services. This role involves collecting beloved pets from veterinary practices and owner's homes , ensuring that all processes are carried out with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the smooth running of our crematorium while upholding the highest standards of care and respect for bereaved families.

The role includes, but not limited to:

Collecting deceased pets from veterinary practices, owner's homes etc in a dignified manner
Hand delivering pet's ashes to veterinary practices and owner's homes
Creating Paw Prints, Clay Prints, Nose Prints, taking fur clippings etc
Handling and delivering of stock
Stock checks
Completing vehicle checks and cleaning
Be an ambassador for the company
Check in with vet staff to make sure they have everything they need from us
Collection of clinical waste for our sister company (ADR training will be provided beforehand)

The candidate must have the following:

Must be compassionate, and ultimately an animal lover! Understand the trust and emotional aspect of the service, the importance of respect and the responsibility of the role
Full clean UK driving licence, and ideally 21 years old or older for our vehicle insurance policy
Be physically fit - there will be a lot of heavy lifting, driving, etc must be capable to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
Ability to work as part of a team but predominantly by themselves
Candidate must be presentable and able to communicate well with clients
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Handling deceased pets is not for everyone – if you are squeamish then this may not be the role for you!
Available to be part of the 'out of hours' and 'on call' rota (occasionally)
Mature enough to handle people's pets in a caring, dignified, and appropriate manner
Discretion and respect for confidentiality at all times
