Overview
We are a well-established alterations and tailoring studio based in Central London, currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Tailor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fashion and garment construction who is looking to develop practical tailoring skills within a professional studio environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting experienced tailors with alterations and garment preparation
Learning tailoring techniques, fittings, and garment construction
Supporting client fittings and appointments
Assisting with pressing, finishing, and quality control
Managing collections and deliveries when required
Maintaining an organised and professional studio environment
Supporting general studio operations and administration

What We’re Looking For

Basic sewing skills and confidence using industrial or domestic sewing machines
Basic understanding of garment construction, alterations, and fitting
Previous experience in tailoring, alterations, fashion studios, sample rooms, or garment factories preferred
Strong interest in tailoring and fashion craftsmanship
Presentable and professional appearance
Good communication skills with spoken English
Hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn
Good attention to detail and time management
A positive attitude and ability to work well within a team

This position is best suited to someone who is genuinely passionate about tailoring and wants to grow long-term within the industry. Our studio is not a repetitive factory environment — every garment, fitting, and client brings new technical and creative challenges.

Because of the nature of our clientele and work, this role offers rare behind-the-scenes exposure to the luxury fashion world, including private clients and red carpet projects. In return, we are looking for someone committed, reliable, and loyal, who is interested in building a long-term career with us rather than treating the role as a short-term apprenticeship.
