Full job description

Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover – 9 to 12 Months)

Location: Grimsby
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am – 3:00pm (45-minute lunch)
Contract: Fixed Term (9–12 months)
Pay: £13.98 per hour

We are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts administration experience who enjoys working in a busy office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase invoices and credit notes using Sage 200 Professional
Updating and maintaining daily Excel spreadsheets
Chasing outstanding customer payments and assisting with credit control
Processing inter-company goods transfers
General accounts and administrative support as required
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role
Be confident using Sage 200 Professional (preferred)
Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Be organised, reliable and able to manage their workload effectively
Have good communication skills, particularly when dealing with customers regarding outstanding payments
