Part-Time Bookkeeper – Thurston Roofing Services Limited

Location: Mapperley/Bestwood / Remote / Hours: Part-Time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About Us

Thurston Roofing Services Limited is a growing roofing and construction company committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and help ensure the smooth running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems.
Processing sales and purchase invoices.
Managing accounts payable and receivable.
Reconciling bank accounts and credit card statements.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
Monitoring cash flow and assisting with budgeting.
Preparing financial reports for management.
Liaising with accountants and external stakeholders as required.
Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

Previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance role.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
Strong understanding of VAT, payroll, and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
AAT qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
