Freed of London Ltd is a prestigious dancewear company with a rich history dating back to the 1920s. Our expertly crafted shoes are trusted by dancers, companies, and schools worldwide, embodying tradition and excellence in footwear manufacturing.
Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Shoe Operative who will be responsible for socking, packing and cleaning the shoes to join our team in Hackney, London. Based in our Theatrical department, you will play a vital role in producing our renowned dance shoes, contributing to our legacy of quality and craftsmanship.

Shoe Socking Duties

· Glue socks into footwear using approved materials, methods, and company procedures.

· Ensure glued socks are positioned accurately and securely to meet quality standards.

· Insert socks, fillers, or internal packaging materials into footwear correctly and efficiently.

· Ensure shoes are matched correctly by size, style, and colour.

· Prepare footwear for packing and dispatch in line with company procedures.

· Check products for visible defects before socking.

· Maintain production targets and accuracy levels.

Shoe Cleaning Duties

· Clean shoes using approved materials and methods.

· Remove marks, dust, glue residue, and other imperfections from footwear.

· Polish or finish footwear where required.

· Ensure all finished products meet company presentation standards.

· Report damaged or faulty products to the supervisor.

Skills and Experience

· Good attention to detail.

· Ability to work accurately and consistently.

· Reliable and punctual.

· Able to work as part of a team.

· Good manual dexterity.

· Previous experience in footwear, warehouse, production, or cleaning roles.

· Experience working to production targets.

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm, Friday 8am to 3.30pm
