About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative / Relief Driver to join our team. This is a varied role involving the day-to-day running of the yard, vehicle loading and unloading, and providing driving cover when required.

Key Responsibilities - Yard Operative Duties

Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
Picking and sorting recycling waste.
Conducting routine equipment and vehicle checks.
Following all health and safety procedures.

Relief Driver Duties

Covering waste collection runs during holidays, sickness, and peak periods.
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
Providing excellent customer service at collection locations.

Requirements

Experience with diggers and telehandlers preferred.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
