The Company

Park Lane Self Drive has a fleet of cars and light commercials that it hires to local businesses and the general public. It also converts and sells wheel chair accessible vehicles to passenger transport businesses across the country. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a vehicle technician to join our team

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle & Tail Lift Technician to join our dedicated team. This role involves the maintenance and repair of cars and light commercial vehicles of our rental fleet at our workshop in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, and maintenance, repair and installation of passenger tail lifts on wheel chair accessible vehicles on our fleet or for passenger transport businesses in the midlands, either in our workshop or at our customers premises, ensuring safety and functionality. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, with experience in servicing and repairs of vehicles - for the right candidate we can provide training on the maintenance of passenger lifts . This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with hands-on skills in equipment repair and maintenance to contribute to a reputable organisation committed to quality service.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of motor vehicles and tail lifts to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using schematics and technical manuals, then execute repairs efficiently
Repair or replace electrical wiring, switches, motors, sensors, and other components associated with tail lifts and vehicle systems.
Assist with the installation of new tail lift units on various vehicle types, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts utilised for each job.
Support the team in heavy lifting tasks and ensure all work areas are kept clean and safe at all times.
Qualifications
Proven experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
Experience repairing and maintaining tail lifts is desirable but not essential
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. This role offers an engaging environment for a dedicated technician eager to apply their skills in vehicle systems repair within a dynamic team focused on safety and quality service delivery.
A full UK driving licence as some lift repairs and maintenance will be done on our customers premises - a company van will be provided

Pay: £25,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
