About us

The Sheffield College is a further and higher education institution dedicated to providing academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 13,000 young people and adults annually. About The role

Caretakers provide essential support to the day-to-day running of the College estate, including opening and closing buildings, carrying out routine checks, supporting events and examinations, and providing a visible estates presence to staff, students and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

Carry out daily opening and closing of the campus, ensuring buildings are safe and secure.
Undertake routine site checks (e.g. lighting, heating, emergency exits, fire doors, water flushing) and report defects.
Carry out minor maintenance tasks and repairs (e.g. replacing bulbs, unblocking drains, basic joinery and plumbing tasks).
Support room setups and furniture moves for teaching, examinations and College events.
