Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proficiency in IT applications. As a Legal Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our legal professionals by managing documentation, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Conduct audio typing of legal dictations accurately and efficiently.
Maintain organised filing systems for both electronic and paper documents to ensure easy retrieval of information.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties to facilitate smooth operations.
Assist in the preparation of case files and documentation for court proceedings.
Utilise Microsoft Outlook for managing emails and scheduling meetings.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
Strong audio typing skills with attention to detail in transcribing legal documents.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
