Part-Time Assistant Accountant

Location: Pensnett, Kingswinford (DY6 8XB)
Salary: Up to £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 20–30 hours per week with flexible working available

T Wall Garages is a successful independent family-owned motor retailer representing the MG and Vauxhall franchises in Kingswinford. Having proudly served customers across the West Midlands for over 70 years, we are looking to recruit an experienced Part-Time Assistant Accountant to support our Accountant and finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a flexible part-time position with a friendly, supportive and well-established family business.

Flexible Working

We understand that everyone has different commitments outside of work.

We require 20–30 hours per week, but how those hours are worked is entirely flexible. We are happy to agree a working pattern that suits both the successful candidate and the business.

Whether you prefer:

School hours
Three full days
Four or five shorter days
A mixture of hours across the week

we are happy to discuss a pattern that works for you.

The Role

Working alongside our Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

Monthly nominal ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
Updating monthly composite performance reports and business statistics
Maintenance of vehicle debtors and creditors
Complete monthly VAT reports
Reviewing and reconciling Business Managers' financial logs
Preparing and raising bank payments
Conducting vehicle stock reconciliations and stocktakes
Assisting with month-end accounting processes
General accounts administration and other ad hoc duties

We're looking for someone who is organised, accurate and enjoys working as part of a team.

Essential Skills and Experience

Previous experience within an accounts department (minimum two years preferred)
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
Good communication skills
Professional telephone manner
Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines
A proactive, process-driven approach
A reliable team playerExperience within the motor trade would be beneficial but is not essential.What We Offer
Up to £15.00 per hour, depending on experience
