Job Summary

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help ensure that food preparation areas are safe, sanitary, and ready for service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary and hospitality skills within a fast-paced setting.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
Ensure all kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized throughout the day, including dishes, utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
Support the movement of supplies and ingredients around the kitchen to facilitate smooth operations
Maintain proper waste disposal procedures and ensure recycling protocols are followed
Help with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service times when needed
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards in all kitchen activities
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking basics, and kitchen hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
Basic understanding of health and safety standards related to food handling and sanitation
Prior experience in serving or hospitality roles is a plus but not mandatory
