Full job description

Mechanical Inspector - Machined Components

About us:-

We manufacture high precision mechanical components and electromechanical assemblies for various high technology applications. Including Scientific Instrumentation, Electro-optics, Bio-technology, Aerospace, Laser Systems and many other industries.

We operate state of the art CNC equipment and produce some very intricate highly toleranced components. We offer a first class working environment in our purpose built 15,000 square feet premises.

Due to renewed customer contracts we are recruiting to add to our current Inspection team.

Main duties:-
Inspection (first off and final inspection) of machined components using conventional metrology equipment and coordinate measuring machines.

Preparation of components for dispatch to customers, working alongside our component finishing team, this will involve some manual finishing (de-burring/polishing/fitting) so that components are presented in the right condition to be incorporated into our customers’ product.

Maintaining records and following procedures as per the Company’s ISO9001 quality system.

Preparation of FAIR reports.

Experience programming and operating an Aberlink CNC CMM would be a distinct advantage.

Requirements:-
Fully experienced in the use of conventional metrology equipment and CNC coordinate measuring machines.

Thorough understanding of engineering drawings including geometrical tolerancing.

Experience of working within an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment and detailed knowledge of calibration systems would be advantageous, particularly instrument calibration experience.

The ideal candidate will have specific experience in a Precision Machining environment, or Mechanical Fitting, will have a good appreciation of mechanical engineering principles and machining methods and will have a fine eye for detail.

We are looking for a team player who in conjunction with our skilled machinists and component finishers will produce products to the most exacting standards for our blue-chip customer base.

Hours Mon – Thurs 08:00 – 13:00 13:30 – 17:00 Fri 08:00 – 13:00

Overtime (not guaranteed) is paid at time +1/3 for the first 4 hours, and time +1/2 for the next 4 hours.

Earning with overtime can be in excess of £42,000 per annum.

In addition the Company offers an annual loyalty bonus.

For a suitably experienced candidate the Company would consider an additional travel expense package to cover any additional commuting costs.
