Full job description

Overview

We are looking for an organised, motivated and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join the Britcon team. This role is key to supporting our finance function, primarily focused on purchase ledger processing and general accounting administration across Britcon and wider group companies.

Responsibilities

Processing and matching purchase invoices
Managing supplier payments and reconciling statements
Handling subcontractor invoices and payments
Resolving supplier and internal queries
Completing daily bank and credit card reconciliations
Supporting month-end reporting activities
Maintaining accurate financial records and databases
Assisting with job costing, credit control and ad-hoc reporting
Providing cover for colleagues during absences

Requirements

· Previous experience within a finance, accounts administration or purchase ledger role

· Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook

· Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes

· Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills

· High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines

· A proactive and reliable team player, able to work independently when required

· AAT qualification, working towards AAT, or previous construction finance experience would be advantageous

Pay: £27,000.00 per year
