Eventus Legal are seeking a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join a specialist Criminal Law firm in Warrington, Cheshire. This is a full time, permanent job offering 26 days annual leave, hybrid working, bonus holiday scheme, Medicash benefits, cycle to work scheme, Christmas office closure and ongoing professional development opportunities.

This Criminal Defence Solicitor job in Warrington, Cheshire presents an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team handling a varied caseload of criminal matters for both legally aided and privately funded clients. This job would suit an experienced and proactive solicitor who enjoys advocacy, client contact and managing cases from initial instruction through to conclusion.

Job Responsibilities

The successful Criminal Defence Solicitor will manage a varied caseload of criminal law matters whilst contributing to the continued success of the wider team.

The day to day duties within this Criminal Defence Solicitor job include:

Managing a caseload of criminal matters for both legal aid and privately funded clients
Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates' Court
Managing Crown Court matters from instruction through to conclusion
Attending court hearings and representing clients at police stations
Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients
Preparing legal documentation and progressing matters efficiently
Liaising with clients, courts, counsel and other third parties
Supporting colleagues and contributing to team objectives
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards

Person Specification

Applications are welcomed from Solicitors with experience in Criminal Defence matters who are able to work effectively within a busy team environment. This Criminal Defence Solicitor job is ideal for a proactive legal professional who enjoys advocacy, client contact and working collaboratively with colleagues. The successful Criminal Defence Solicitor will possess the following experience, skills and attributes:

Previous experience handling criminal law matters
Strong advocacy and communication skills
Excellent client care and relationship building abilities
Good organisational and time management skills
A proactive and collaborative approach to work
Strong information technology skills and attention to detail
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

It would be advantageous, although not essential, to hold Police Station Accreditation and or Duty Solicitor status or be willing to work towards these accreditations.
