Position Food Service Assistant

Location LVS Ascot, London Road, Ascot, SL5 8DR

Hours 40 hours per week

Pay Rate £12.71 per hour

At LVS Ascot, every meal served helps create a positive experience for our students, staff and visitors. We're looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Food Service Assistants to join our welcoming catering team and play an important role in the daily life of our vibrant school community.

This is more than a food service role. It's an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where teamwork, pride in delivering great service and making a difference every day are genuinely valued.

Whether you have previous catering experience or are looking to build a career in hospitality, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note: This role involves lone working. Due to health and safety and safeguarding requirements, applicants must be aged 18 or over.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Food Service Assistant, you'll be helping to create a positive dining experience for students, staff and visitors by:

Supporting the preparation and service of fresh, high-quality food
Presenting food attractively and serving it to the highest standards
Assisting with basic food preparation and day-to-day kitchen operations
Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene
Receiving deliveries and ensuring stock is stored and rotated correctly
Providing a warm, professional and welcoming customer experience
Supporting school events, hospitality functions and special occasions
Assisting with portion control and helping to minimise food waste
Working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth service throughout the day
Sharing ideas that help improve service standards and enhance the dining experience

What We're Looking For

We're seeking people who enjoy working with others, take pride in doing a great job and bring positive energy to their team.

You'll Ideally Have:

A positive, can-do attitude
Strong communication and customer service skills
Good organisation and attention to detail
The ability to work well in a busy environment
A reliable and flexible approach
A commitment to maintaining high standards
Previous experience in catering, hospitality or food service (desirable but not essential)
A Food Hygiene Certificate (advantageous, although full training can be provided)
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for all successful applicants.
