Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the clinic. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and dental health to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and sterilised.
Provide exceptional patient care by offering reassurance and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.
Assist in maintaining accurate patient records in accordance with practice protocols.
Prepare treatment rooms before appointments, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Support with infection control procedures in line with health and safety regulations.
Manage appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-up communications efficiently.
Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining stock levels of dental supplies and organising clinical areas for optimal workflow.
Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements

Proven experience as a dental assistant. Trainees will be considered with a minimum of 1 year previous chairside experience is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy environment.
Good IT skills for maintaining electronic health records and managing appointment systems.
Ability to work well as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative independently.
Compassionate approach with a focus on delivering outstanding patient care.
Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilisation procedures is advantageous.
A recognised qualification in dental nursing is preferred but not essential. This role provides an enriching environment for those committed to advancing their career in dental healthcare while making a positive impact on patients’ wellbeing.
