Job description

Location of post: Allocated school

Contract type: Fixed term until 31st March 2027 with the possibility of an extension subject to funding (Grant funded post SPF)

Is this post a secondment? Yes this can be considered – prior agreement with the applicant’s current manager would be required.

Your workstyle in this role will require you to work from a fixed workplace.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Cynnydd Youth Engagement Worker to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with children and young people to improve their engagement in education. They will hold a caseload, plan, facilitate, monitor and evaluate a range of interventions to support the needs of children and young people in a strengths-based person-centred approach.

This post will target children and young people most at risk of disengagement from education and therefore, by association, be at the highest risk of becoming not in education, employment of training (NEET).

You will have experience in/of;

Engaging with young people in order to build positive relationships in a school setting. You will have experience of delivering a range of interventions in order to address areas of concern, linked to disengagement and behavioural needs.

You will also have experience of adopting a multi-agency approach in order to best support the young people and their families.

About you:

This post requires a formal qualification e.g. A Youth Work qualification or equivalent.

Youth and community worker.
Level 4 Teaching Assistant.
Roles that include working with young people who have complex additional learning needs.
