What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Service Manager to join the leadership team at Via Redbridge, our adult drug and alcohol treatment service.

This is an exciting time to join us. Via Redbridge has recently been re-awarded the contract to continue delivering this service, recognising the quality and impact of the work our team delivers every day. As we build on that success, we are investing in strengthening our management structures across all Via services within the Borough – including young people, sexual health, and smoking cessation services.

As Deputy Service Manager, you will be an integral member of the Redbridge Leadership Team, working closely with the Service Manager, Team Leaders, commissioners, partners and colleagues to ensure the service is effective, safe, responsive, caring and well-led. You will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the service, embedding high standards of quality and governance while supporting excellent outcomes for the people who use our services. This role is ideal for an experienced manager who is passionate about developing people, driving continuous improvement and creating an inclusive, psychologically informed workplace where both colleagues and service users can thrive.

In this role, you will lead on quality assurance, governance and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with CQC requirements and embedding best practice across the service. You will support, coach and develop Team Leaders to deliver high-quality, person-centred services, oversee recruitment and workforce development, and champion safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and psychologically informed approaches. Working collaboratively with commissioners, partners and stakeholders, you will also contribute to service development and help ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we support.

What you'll bring

Experience of managing or supervising teams within drug and alcohol services, or a related health and social care setting.

A strong understanding of CQC Key Lines of Enquiry, quality assurance processes, and regulatory requirements.

Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice for both adults and children.

Experience of leading, coaching and developing managers or staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred services.

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong communication, leadership and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with colleagues, commissioners and partner agencies.

A commitment to trauma-informed practice, the recovery model, and reducing inequalities in access and outcomes.
