Overview
Join our thriving, dynamic kitchen as a Sous Chef, playing a vital role in our exciting new chapter as we expand into Plates and Patties. You'll be a key support to the Head Chef and the dynamic broader kitchen team, helping shape the menu and ensuring our high standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicant will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency
Supervise and support kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation teams, fostering a collaborative team environment
Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are prepared in accordance with recipes and presentation guidelines
Lead food preparation and cooking activities, maintaining consistency and excellence in all menu items
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across the kitchen
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen resources
Support training programmes for new staff and ongoing development of team members
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques
Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and customer service within the team

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality establishment is essential
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences

Pay: £31,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
