Assistant Bar Manager

Beckenham Sports Club, Beckenham (BR3 5AS)

Beckenham Sports Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our busy clubhouse and bar.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their career within a thriving multi-sports club. Working alongside the Bar Manager, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to members, guests, visiting teams and event attendees.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day running of the clubhouse and bar.
Lead shifts and supervise bar staff to ensure excellent customer service.
Assist with stock control, ordering and cellar management.
Support recruitment, training and development of bar staff.
Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, food hygiene and club procedures.
Assist in the delivery of club events, private functions and match-day hospitality.
Undertake cash handling, reconciliation and end-of-day procedures.
Act as Duty Manager in the absence of the Bar Manager.
Help maintain a welcoming, professional and member-focused environment.

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience in a bar, hospitality or licensed premises environment.
Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Be able to motivate and support a team.
Demonstrate a proactive and hands-on approach to work.
Be organised, reliable and capable of working under pressure.
Have a good understanding of stock control and cash handling procedures.
Be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.

Hours and Benefits

Full-time position (40 hours per week)
