Job description – Bar & Facilities Manager

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be running the bar for weddings here at Lodge Farm. You’ll meet the couples as you help them plan their wedding, from choosing wine to designing Mr & Mrs Cocktails. You’ll get to know each couple and then deliver a bar that completes their wedding experience.

You will have responsibility for the bar P&L and management of the bar team. This is an ideal role for a graduate or someone looking to step up into a management role.

You will also be responsible for some of the facilities management such as the accommodation and gardens of the wedding venue.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for smooth running and profitability of the bar

Ensuring excellent standards of customer service are delivered consistently throughout the couples wedding experience from enquiry to planning to the wedding day itself

Development of the beverage offering including cocktail development, wine list and bar menus

Stock control & cellar management

Manging, training and motivating team members

Setting the venue up with chairs, tables and hire items

Accountable for COSSH, Food Safely, H&S, licensing regulations and duty of care to customers and colleagues

Management of EPOS system and cash reconciliation

Liaising with suppliers and the event organisers

Key holder responsibilities including closing up and locking up at the end of the night

Assisting with the set up and running of the annual pumpkin pop up event (during which there are no weddings), working in the café or on the check in

Hands on work in the grounds to include gardening and painting along with other ad-hoc tasks

What you’ll bring

Experience as a bar supervisor managing a team

Genuine interest in customer service excellence

Strong team player, highly confident and positive

Polite, personable and organised

Self motivated and able to work well unsupervised

Experience in bar and cellar management preferred

A willingness to develop systems & procedures

Strong knowledge of cocktails and wine is an advantage

What we offer

35 hour contract

Around 14 hours on a wedding day, with the rest management of the bar and facilities.

We rarely do weddings on Fridays or Sundays so you’ll usually have these evenings off.

Opportunity for overtime according to wedding bookings – up to an additional 15 hours per week

20 days Holiday + 8 bank holidays pro rated down to 35 hours

This is a great job for someone looking of their first management role – there is responsibility for a P&L and managing people but in a very supportive environment where the owners are hands on.

You’ll need to be able to get to work yourself as there is no public transport here and have the right to work in the UK.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
