Full job description

About the role

AMC Training & Consultancy Ltd is looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Officer to take ownership of both the day-to-day bookkeeping and the wider financial picture of the organisation. This is a broad role that suits someone who is equally comfortable raising an invoice and preparing a cash flow forecast.

You'll be trusted to keep the finances running smoothly and accurately, while also acting as a knowledgeable advisor on planning, funding and tax. Because we're a small team, we need a self-starter who can work independently, spot issues early and keep everything organised without close supervision.

What you'll be doing

Financial planning & advisory

Managing and monitoring cash flow, and flagging any concerns in good time
Preparing budgets and financial forecasts to support decision-making
Supporting grant applications and managing the financial reporting that funders require
Advising on tax matters and ensuring the organisation stays compliant

Day-to-day accounts & administration

Raising quotes, invoices and statements of account
Processing and reconciling banking, and keeping records up to date
Running payroll accurately and on time
General bookkeeping and keeping the finance function organised and audit-ready

What we're looking for

Essential

Solid, proven experience in a similar finance or bookkeeping role
Confident across the full picture - from forecasting and tax through to invoicing and payroll
Experience with grant/funding applications and reporting (highly desirable)
Strong working knowledge of accounting software [e.g. Xero / QuickBooks / Sage - specify]
Accurate, well-organised and able to manage your own workload independently
Discreet and trustworthy when handling sensitive financial information
Lives within easy reach of Lisburn — this role is [office-based / partly on-site]

Desirable

A relevant accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, ACA or QBE with strong experience)
Experience working within a small business setting
