Full job description

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Wood Machinist and become a vital contributor to our manufacturing and fabrication processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating woodworking machinery to produce high-quality timber products while maintaining excellent standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, moulders, spindle moulders.
Read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, and finish timber components to precise tolerances.
Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.

Requirements

Previous experience operating woodworking machinery in a manufacturing or joinery environment.
Good understanding of timber materials and machining processes.
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
