Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for gastronomy and leadership within a professional hospitality environment. The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and maintaining a smooth workflow in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

Prepare dishes using traditional Indian herbs, spices, and cooking techniques to maintain authentic flavours and presentation.
Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and service to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
Ensure all dishes are prepared and served according to the restaurant’s quality standards and customer expectations.
Monitor food portion control, stock rotation, and storage procedures to minimise wastage and maintain freshness of ingredients.
Assist in ordering food supplies and checking deliveries to ensure ingredients meet quality standards.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and kitchen safety in compliance with food safety regulations.
Support the Head Chef in developing new menu items and improving existing recipes.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Excellent team management and leadership abilities
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings with a focus on high-quality service
Ability to organise workload efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills to effectively lead and motivate staff
Familiarity with food presentation standards and culinary trends
