Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Self-Employed Floor Layer to join our team. This dynamic role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring in commercial, and industrial settings. As a self-employed professional, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while delivering high-quality craftsmanship. Your expertise will help transform spaces with durable, attractive flooring solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced floor layers who thrive on independence and excellence.

Duties

Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and ensuring surfaces are ready for installation
Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools and power tools
Install a variety of flooring types including luxury vinyl tiles, carpet tiles and safety flooring according to schematics and client requirements.
Follow schematics and technical drawings precisely to meet project specifications
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste responsibly

Skills

Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of flooring installation processes
Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, chisels, saws, and screwdrivers
Skilled in carpentry techniques relevant to flooring projects
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
Experience with construction painting for finishing details
Comfortable operating power tools safely and efficiently
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
