Full job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Enforcement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing parking regulations, issuing tickets to vehicles parked in contravention of those regulations and providing excellent customer service to the public.

You will patrol the car parks, providing a courteous service with effective communication skills, assisting members of the public when needed. You will be able to complete a range of physical tasks working outdoors in all weathers. Full uniform and training will be provided, including an NVQ2 qualification in Civil Enforcement Operations and Conflict Resolution. Applicants should have experience in dealing with the public.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a non-discriminatory manner, in accordance with Council's Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Policy, have experience of recording and maintaining accurate records, have written and verbal communication skills, operate as part of a team but have the ability to work independently in what is a physically and mentally demanding role. You will be required to work on a rota / shift system which includes weekend and evening working (incl. Bank Holidays), in which you would receive weekend / evening enhancements where applicable.

Key responsibilities:

Patrol designated areas on foot / by vehicle to monitor and enforce parking regulations.
Issue parking tickets to vehicles parked in contravention of the City of Lincoln Council’s ‘Off Street’ Parking Places Order (Traffic Management Act 2004).
Provide information and guidance to members of the public regarding parking regulations / restrictions.
Report any defects or damage to parking equipment or signage.
Maintain accurate records and complete daily reports of enforcement activities.
Ensure that the car parks are kept safe and clean for users.
Work effectively with colleagues.
