Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Third in Charge for our Nursery to support the management team in delivering high-quality childcare services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and a solid background in early childhood education. This role involves assisting with daily nursery operations, supervising staff, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for all children. The position offers an opportunity to develop management skills within a professional childcare setting.

Duties

Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily nursery activities and ensuring smooth operation
Supervise and support nursery staff, including other carers and assistants
Engage with children through organised activities, play, and educational programmes to promote their development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures
Contribute to the organisation of nursery routines, including meal times, naps, and learning sessions
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and planning activities
Drive nursery vehicles when required for outings or errands, ensuring safety at all times

Experience

Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood education environment
Demonstrable management or leadership experience within childcare settings
Strong understanding of childcare regulations and safeguarding procedures
Experience working directly with children, ideally across various age groups
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also taking initiative when needed
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies as required

This role is suitable for individuals committed to providing exceptional care and education for young children while developing their leadership capabilities within a supportive team environment.

Pay: £13.00-£15.50 per hour
