Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our tailoring team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, altering, and repairing garments to meet clients’ specifications and ensure high-quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about craftsmanship and fashion, looking to develop their skills within a professional environment and under a head tailor. The position is paid and suitable for experienced tailors who will work under minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Measure clients accurately to determine tailoring requirements
Cut fabric precisely according to pattern specifications
Sew garments with attention to detail, ensuring durability and finish quality
Alter and adjust clothing to fit individual clients’ measurements and preferences
Repair damaged or worn clothing items efficiently and neatly
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabric choices and styles
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use
Keep up-to-date with the latest tailoring techniques, fashion trends, and industry standards

Qualifications

Proven experience in tailoring, dressmaking, or garment alteration is preferred
Strong sewing skills with proficiency in using various sewing machines and hand tools
Excellent attention to detail and precision in work
Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
Ability to interpret technical drawings or patterns accurately
Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
A passion for craftsmanship, fashion, and continuous learning in tailoring techniques
