About the Role
We're excited to be recruiting an Internal Trainer to join our team at Cedar Health and Wellbeing.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified trainer who is passionate about developing people and improving standards across health and social care.
As Internal Trainer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our workforce has the knowledge, skills and confidence required to deliver safe, effective and person-centred support to adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Reporting to the Training & Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality induction, mandatory, refresher and specialist training programmes across the organisation.
We're looking for someone who can engage and inspire learners, adapt their delivery style to suit different audiences and contribute to a positive culture of continuous learning and development. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate training records, assessing learner competency and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You'll Be Doing
As Internal Trainer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging face-to-face induction training for new starters.
- Delivering mandatory and refresher training programmes across the organisation.
- Delivering specialist training, including PROACT-SCIP interventions where qualified.
- Assessing learner competency through observation, discussion, practical exercises and knowledge assessments.
- Providing constructive feedback and identifying learners who may require additional support.
- Maintaining accurate training records, attendance registers and assessment documentation.
- Ensuring all training documentation is completed and submitted promptly.
- Supporting the development and review of training materials and learning resources.
- Ensuring training content remains compliant with legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice guidance.
- Working closely with managers to identify learning and development needs across services.
- Supporting the embedding of learning into practice within teams.
- Escalating concerns relating to competency, understanding or safe practice where required.
- Promoting a positive learning culture across Cedar Health and Wellbeing.
- Acting as a role model for professional conduct, safeguarding and person-centred support.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced trainer who can deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences and positively influence practice across our services.
Essential
- A recognised teaching or training qualification, such as:
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education and Training (CET)
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience delivering training within health and social care.
- Experience facilitating classroom-based and practical learning sessions.
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Good understanding of adult social care legislation and best practice.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and person-centred support.
- Experience assessing learner understanding and competency.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with staff at all levels.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic training systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services.
- Enhanced DBS and satisfactory pre-employment checks.
Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- PROACT-SCIP Instructor qualification.
- Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1 or equivalent).
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and Skills for Care guidance.
- Experience maintaining ASC-WDS records.
- Experience developing training materials and learning resources.

Safeguarding & Mental Capacity Act
You will be expected to complete relevant safeguarding training and demonstrate a sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, the Mental Capacity Act and best interest decision-making. This includes reporting concerns appropriately and following organisational policies and procedures.
