Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance with excellent knowledge of Xero Accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. If you have a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions in the accounting system.
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding financial reporting.
Provide support in the implementation of new accounting software as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting department.
Proficiency in accounting software Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and external stakeholders.
A relevant qualification in finance or accounting is preferred but not mandatory.
