Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an organised Hire Desk Controller with excellent people skills to oversee the scheduling and coordination of plant transportation. This role requires someone with computer skills as well as some experience in logistics.

This is a front facing, customer service role and a basic understanding of plant machinery/mechanics would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will utilise their strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment during busy spells, as well as using their initiative during quieter months.

This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in transportation/plant management, and logistics coordination.

Responsibilities

Manage and update schedules
Communicate effectively with customers, drivers and suppliers, via phone and written correspondence
Assist in the real-time management of logistics activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Requirements

Strong customer service skills
Computer skills - training on our system will be provided
Some knowledge of plant machinery/mechanics
Organised approach with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of logistics principles combined with strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work as part of a team

This role is ideal for candidates seeking a challenging position in a customer facing roll within the logistics sector.

The successful applicant will be integral to maintaining efficient supply chain operations whilst developing valuable skills in a logistics environment.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
