Location: Newton Abbot Dental, Newton Abbot

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some weekend availability

Salary: Up to £16.12 per hour, based on experience

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Overview

We are currently expanding our facilities to become a six-surgery site and are looking for a dedicated, qualified Dental Nurse to join our thriving team.

As a Qualified Dental Nurse, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality clinical support and helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice. You will work closely with our clinicians and wider team to provide every patient with a positive, comfortable and professional experience from the moment they arrive.

Duties

Assisting dentists and hygienists during a wide range of dental procedures.
Ensuring all required instruments, equipment and materials are prepared and available before treatment.
Providing professional chairside support while helping patients feel comfortable and reassured.
Cleaning, decontaminating and sterilising instruments in accordance with infection prevention and control procedures.
Maintaining accurate patient records and updating information as required.
Ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Communicating effectively with patients regarding treatment, aftercare and oral hygiene.
Supporting clinicians and colleagues to maintain an efficient and seamless patient journey.
Carrying out a high standard of Infection Control and central sterilisation
Monitoring and maintaining appropriate levels of clinical stock and materials.
Supporting administrative and reception duties when required.
Following all practice policies, procedures and relevant professional guidelines.
Maintaining your GDC registration and completing the required continuing professional development.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant must:

Hold a recognised dental nursing qualification.
Be registered with the General Dental Council.
Have excellent communication skills and a confident, professional manner.
Demonstrate a genuine commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Be compassionate and able to reassure nervous or anxious patients.
Have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Be able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Be comfortable using IT systems and dental practice software.
Work well as part of a busy and supportive team.
Be reliable, punctual and hard-working.
Be willing to use their initiative appropriately.
Be enthusiastic about learning and continuing their professional development.
