Full job description

Junior IT Support

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Support professional to join our IT Department. The successful candidate will provide first and second-line IT support to office and vessel personnel, ensuring that technical issues are resolved promptly while delivering a high standard of service.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise across a broad range of IT systems and technologies. The position also provides the opportunity to enhance communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills within a dynamic, multicultural environment and a global industry.

Key responsibilities:

Provide first and second-line IT support to office and vessel users.
Response to and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
Install, configure, and maintain virtual machines, desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices and peripherals.
Monitor device performance and ensure their availability and reliability.
Install, configure and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and business applications.
Assist with user account administration, and access requests.
Support remote users using remote support tools.
Maintain IT asset records and documentation.
Escalate infrastructure and complex technical issues.
Assist with hardware deployments and equipment replacement.
Ensure IT policies and Cyber Security procedures are followed.
Liaise with vendors and suppliers when required.
Participate in IT projects as required.

Skills & Experience

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant IT qualification or Apprenticeship is desirable.
Previous experience in an IT support or Helpdesk role would be preferred.
Good knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Basic Active Directory user administration.
Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware.
Knowledge of printers and peripheral devices.
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and wired/wireless network troubleshooting.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and user support skills.
Good organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
