Full job description

To prepare daily work schedule for Waste Services vehicles (communicate with drivers /loaders). Accommodate additional customer orders efficiently daily.
Ensure that the performance of drivers is effectively managed.
Ensure activities within operations are carried out safely and in accordance with legal, environmental and company policies.
To ensure all vehicles attend the scheduled service intervals/MOTs. Deal with the contingency process for absence and vehicle breakdowns.
K.P.I objectives to be maintained and improved. Weekly reporting for Transport Manager (vehicles, mileage, Pay by Weight etc).
Manage holiday schedules and time keeping of all drivers.
Identify and rectify any missed collections (manage the customers expectations).
Answer and handle internal and external communications courteously and efficiently, resolving customer complaints and queries effectively. Escalate complaints to TM as necessary.

Person Specification

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (email and over phone).
Experience with logistic/transport planning - 3 years
A high level of accuracy is essential. Accountable for results and long-term business objectives.
Must be a good team player and work well under own initiative.
Strong business acumen and excellent customer service experience.
Possess excellent organisational skills, meeting deadlines, planning and prioritising.
Data extraction and reporting experience.
Have a good knowledge of MS Software, Vehicle tracking systems and Weighsoft or equivalent Waste Management software.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Must possess excellent negotiation skills and be effective at managing relationships.
Knowledge of Waste Industry an advantage but not essential
