Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to oversee food manufacturing operations during the late shift from 2pm to 10pm. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of food safety standards, and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth production processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team committed to maintaining high-quality food production standards within a fast-paced environment.

Role: Team Leader – Late Shift

Hours: 37.5 hours per week / 2pm – 10pm

This role will involve manual handling

Annual Salary; £29’744

Shift Allowance: £594

Reporting to: Shift Manager

Purpose of role:

Have full accountability of the line Performance, Product Quality and Safety of Staff
To deliver key performance goals by maximising staff, equipment and process
To ensure staff follow work instructions at all times
To coach and support staff to enforce correct behaviours and standards
To act as a focal point to promote continuity and consistency of all operations, policies and procedures
Communicate, cooperate and give feedback to the team, other functions and across shifts
Maintain accurately and timely paperwork, line checks, Patch and SIC boards
To ensure that food products are produced safely and legally

Experience, Skills and Knowledge required for the role:

Ability to work within and lead a team - Essential
Development of people – Essential
Process and equipment knowledge of your line – Internal Training given
Health and safety awareness - Essential
Thorough understanding of product safety principles e.g. HACCP - Desirable
Basic PC Skills - Essential
Above standard verbal and written communication skills - Essential
Train the trainer - Desirable
Allergens, Audits, CAYG, Basic Problem Solving, Communication, Teamwork - Internal training given

Results Areas:

The line meets the expected Performance (OEE) levels
The line achieves the expected Quality standards
The line operates in a Safe manner and actively works to reduce the risk of injury
The line achieves its Key Performance Indicators
Changeovers are carried out in the allocated time
All checks at the start of the shift, end of the shift, product changeovers and that are time dependant are performed correctly
All staff on the line are trained to do the tasks that they do
Accident investigations are supported
The SIC board is updated accurately and hourly
Patch is updated accurately and hourly
Issues on the line are resolved or quickly escalated
Staff are utilised well for the tasks that they do.
Ensure that staff are rotating positions regularly in line with Health & Safety requirements.
Waste meets the expected levels.

KPI’s

Product meets the QAS
Waste levels are met or exceeded
Performance levels are met or exceeded (OEE)
Changeover standards are achieved or improved upon
Skill compliance for the staff on the line is 100%
Recorded data is correct
