Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Receptionist/Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis, working 20 hours per week, plus additional hours to cover absences. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient-centred care within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing vital administrative support to ensure smooth operations. Prior reception and administrative experience is desirable, along with a compassionate approach to patient engagement. Experience of microsoft packages and SystmOne is desirable but full training can be provided.

Duties

Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them appropriately
Deal with incoming Accurx patient requests appropriately
Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations efficiently
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required
Assist with general administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, data entry, and correspondence
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety standards

Requirements

Previous office or administrative experience is preferred
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
Proficient in the use of standard office software (e.g., MS Office suite)
Friendly demeanour with a patient-centred approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work between additional hours to cover annual leave and ad-hoc sickness is required
Our surgery is open from 8.00 till 18.30 and shifts will be within those times which can be discussed

This role provides an engaging environment where your organisational skills will directly support patient care delivery.

Pay: From £24,785.00 per year
