The Role: CAD Engineer

We're looking for an organised, detail-focused CAD Engineer who enjoys combining technical precision with practical problem-solving.

You will work under the guidance of the Director of Design & Engineering and the Engineering Team Leader, collaborating closely with production and installation teams to ensure drawings and technical information are accurate, issued on time, and aligned with project requirements.

This role would suit someone who enjoys learning, takes pride in producing accurate work, and wants to develop within a growing engineering team where every project is different.

What You'll Be Doing

Producing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks
Creating accurate production drawings that support our manufacturing and installation teams
Reviewing drawings against project specifications to identify and resolve potential issues before production begins
Designing in accordance with BS EN 1176 and ASTM F1918 industry standards
Producing manufacturing lists, component schedules and supplier order information
Supporting the preparation of technical information used within project quotations
Updating drawings and technical documentation as project requirements evolve
Working closely with production, procurement and installation teams to ensure projects run smoothly
Managing multiple projects while maintaining exceptional levels of accuracy
Responding positively and efficiently to design amendments and specification changes
Contributing ideas that improve processes, efficiency and engineering quality
Taking pride in producing work that helps deliver outstanding customer experiences

What Makes You a Great Fit

We're looking for someone who enjoys precision, takes ownership of their work, and believes the smallest details often make the biggest difference.

You'll thrive here if you:

Hold a degree (or equivalent qualification) in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Have strong SolidWorks experience and enjoy creating detailed engineering drawings
Can confidently interpret both 2D and 3D technical drawings
Have excellent attention to detail and naturally spot inconsistencies
Enjoy solving technical challenges and finding practical solutions
Are highly organised and able to prioritise multiple projects
Can accurately interpret measurements, specifications and technical information
Adapt quickly when project requirements change
Can communicate well at all levels within an organisation.
Take pride in producing work that is accurate, consistent and reliable
Enjoy working collaboratively while taking ownership of your own responsibilities

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

Experience using Monday.com
Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction or installation environments
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods

Full-time

Monday-Friday

Following your initial training period, there is the opportunity for up to two days of hybrid working each week.
