Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in providing accurate financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The successful candidate will play a key part in managing financial reporting, analysing budgets, and assisting with financial management across various departments. Duties

Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports to support management decision-making.
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Utilise accounting software and other financial management tools to maintain precise records.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Monitor cash flow and optimise financial processes to improve efficiency.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures in compliance with organisational policies.
Mentor junior finance staff and provide guidance on best practices in financial management.
Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role within the financial services sector.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant systems.
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
Experience with financial management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
Demonstrated mentoring abilities to support team development.
Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA are preferred but not essential. This position offers an engaging environment for professionals eager to contribute their expertise in a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to excellence in financial management.
