Receptionist (Fixed Term 9 Months)

Bupa Steeple Grange Dental Care
22.5 hours per week | Monday to Wednesday | 8:30am to 5:15pm Pam Wilmot, Practice Manager at Bupa Steeple Grange Dental Care, is looking for a friendly and organised Receptionist to join the team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role has been created to support the processing of referral administration for the NHS contract, while also providing reception cover within a busy dental practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong computer skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

About the role

Fixed-term contract for 9 months
22.5 hours per week
Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am to 5:15pm
Processing referral and NHS contract administration
Supporting the reception team with patient enquiries and appointment management
Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
Working within a busy, fast-paced practice environment

Previous reception or administration experience is desirable
Good computer and data entry skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks effectively

What you’ll be doing

As a Receptionist, you’ll play a key role in making every patient experience a positive one:

Customer care at the heart – warmly greeting patients in person and over the phone, answering queries, and ensuring a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Diary & appointment management – handling bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling to keep the practice running efficiently.
Supporting patients with confidence – explaining processes and treatment options, supporting payment transactions, and helping patients understand their options (private vs NHS services).
Administration you can rely on – keeping patient records accurate and up to date, managing confidential information, and maintaining a professional reception area.
Problem-solving with empathy – handling concerns and complaints professionally, always aiming for a positive outcome.
Being part of the team – supporting clinicians with smooth handovers and the patient journey from reception to treatment. Assisting with admin and helping the Practice Manager keep everything running smoothly.
