About Us

The Role

This role is suited to a Bookkeeper with a strong, confident grasp of double entry bookkeeping who is also highly comfortable working in a tech-first environment. You will be responsible for completing monthly bookkeeping and supporting the preparation of management information for a portfolio of clients, using MazApp, our proprietary, cutting-edge software platform.

You will need to be intellectually curious, open-minded, and willing to challenge traditional ways of working. While a solid technical foundation is essential, success at Mazuma also depends on your ability to adapt, learn quickly, and embrace new systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Complete monthly bookkeeping to a high technical standard, applying robust double entry principles throughout
Prepare and amend management accounts and supporting schedules
Prepare and amend VAT returns accurately and on time
Ensure all deadlines and internal SLAs are consistently met
Work in a systems-first way, using technology to drive accuracy, efficiency and scalability
Actively engage with training and development, taking ownership of your professional progression
Work closely with Accountants and the Accounting Team Manager to resolve queries and improve processes
Consistently demonstrate and uphold Mazuma’s values

About You

You are an experienced Bookkeeper with a very strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping and the confidence to apply it independently. You are technically sound, highly organised, and comfortable working at pace in a structured, technology-led environment.

You will bring:

Solid, practical experience in bookkeeping with demonstrable double entry competence
High confidence using accounting software and digital tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
Strong IT skills and numerical accuracy
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and high levels of personal accountability
An open and adaptable approach, with a willingness to work differently to traditional accountancy firms
