This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across the Major Developments Directorate at a period of major regeneration in the city. You will be part of a team that leads on funding, placemaking, climate change, capital projects and inward investment.

We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, willingness and a passion for place.

The hours are 37 per week and are negotiable to suit the service delivery and the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities:

Undertake the role of Assistant Development Officer for the directorate providing project support to the Director, Assistant Director and rest of the team.

Work in a collaborative and supportive manner with the Director, Assistant Director and rest of the team.

Provide administrative support to identified major development project groups.

Support the Director and Assistant Director by engaging in a collaborative manner with partnerships, local businesses and investors, participate in key initiatives, and provide professional and effective support to private sector boards and projects.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience of developing, leading and managing effective teams, setting clear objectives, providing constructive feedback and acting as a role model.

Ability to develop new and creative approaches to service delivery.

Experience of working / liaising with partner organisations.

Experience of calmly making consistent, timely and risk-based decisions under pressure.

Ability to manage and monitor budgets effectively.

Experience of working independently and using own initiative with tasks and supporting management.

A Level / Level 3 NVQ qualification in a relevant field or relevant demonstrable experience.
