Full job description

Salary: £20,646.00
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, minimum 4 days per week (term-time only)
Contract: Permanent

Education 1st is a growing Alternative Learning Provider, and we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts / HR Assistant to support both our finance and people functions.

This is a varied role ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership and wants to develop across accounts and HR in a supportive, expanding organisation — with the benefit of working term-time only. You will also be required to work a maximum of 6 days outside of term time to support key administrative periods. These days will be arranged in advance by giving you no less than 2 weeks' notice

Key Responsibilities

Purchase & sales ledger, reconciliations and trial balance support
Payroll preparation and processing support
Supplier and contract management
HR administration including onboarding, contracts and employee records
Recruitment coordination and general HR support
General administration across the business

About You

Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts / finance (HR exposure a bonus)
AAT Level 2 (Level 3 or studying desirable)
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Confident working independently
Strong Excel and accounting software skills
