Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate mobility between care settings. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop their career within the healthcare sector.

Duties

Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Supporting the development and implementation of personalised care plans
Providing emotional support and companionship to individuals in care homes or receiving home care services
Monitoring health conditions and reporting any concerns to senior staff
Assisting with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
Maintaining accurate records using IT systems and ensuring documentation is up-to-date
Communicating effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Driving between different care locations when required, ensuring timely support for clients

Experience

Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Good understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately
Proficiency in IT systems relevant to healthcare documentation
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring travel between locations
Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
