Full job description

D S Willetts Stainless is looking to recruit an experienced Waterjet & Plasma Machine Operator to join our production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, hardworking individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

Set up, operate and monitor waterjet and plasma cutting machines to ensure efficient production.
Produce components accurately in accordance with customer specifications and production schedules.
Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily equipment checks.
Report machine faults or operational issues promptly.
Follow all standard operating procedures and health & safety requirements.
Dress, inspect and pack finished products to the required quality standards.
Work closely with colleagues to ensure production schedules are achieved.

Warehouse & General Duties

Assist with general warehouse operations as required.
Unload and inspect incoming deliveries, checking quantities, condition and compliance with purchase orders.
Accurately pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
Safely operate overhead cranes, pallet trucks and other material handling equipment (training provided where required).
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Report maintenance or health & safety concerns to supervisors without delay.
Support colleagues across the warehouse and production departments to meet business requirements.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

· The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience operating waterjet and/or plasma cutting machines.
A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Good communication skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A flexible approach with the ability to prioritise workload.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Experience of operating overhead cranes is desirable, although training can be provided.
