Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Nursery Practitioner to join our team on a bank/temporary basis. This role offers the opportunity to work within a nurturing environment, supporting the development and well-being of young children. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and a passion for working with children, providing high-quality care and support in line with nursery standards. Flexibility is essential to cover various shifts and adapt to the needs of the nursery.

Duties

Support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote children's development
Assist in creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children
Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with colleagues and parents as appropriate
Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, play, rest, and personal care
Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety within the nursery setting
Collaborate with team members to plan and implement educational programmes
Ensure effective communication with colleagues, children, and parents or guardians
Assist with administrative tasks related to children's records and daily reports
Uphold nursery policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications

Experience working in a nursery or early childhood education setting is preferred
Knowledge of child development principles and childcare practices
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership when required
Management skills to organise activities and support children's individual needs
Experience working with children across different age groups is desirable
Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between sites or community activities
A recognised qualification in childcare or early childhood education (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare) is desirable but not essential for all roles

Pay: £12.82-£13.44 per hour
